Hi there, I’m Rebecca!
I’m an illustrator and graphic designer based in Chicago, specializing in editorial illustration, visual storytelling, and concept-driven design.
For more than eight years, I worked across The Onion and its sister publications, including The A.V. Club, The Takeout, Deadspin, and ClickHole, creating everything from editorial illustrations and photo composites to branding, special projects, and digital graphics. I now bring that editorial experience to my work at NewsNation, where I create on-air news graphics and studio visuals for a fast-paced broadcast environment. I also take on freelance projects across a range of creative disciplines.
I earned my B.F.A. in Illustration from Northern Illinois University (go Huskies!). My work is driven by thoughtful concepts, bold visual choices, and a balance between clean design and personality. While I primarily work digitally, I love incorporating traditional textures and unexpected details to give my work a more tactile feel.
When I’m not designing, you can find me anywhere outdoors - on the softball fields around Chicago, riding my mountain bike on the local trails, or training for my next rock climbing adventure.
I’m always open to freelance projects and new creative opportunities. Get in touch below!
